Client Agreement & Terms of Service

Important Notice
By continuing with your booked photoshoot, you are agreeing to the terms outlined in this contract. If you have any concerns or issues with these terms, you MUST present those prior to your shoot. By showing up for your session, you are confirming that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.

1. Deposit & Payment

  • Booking Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 50% of your total session fee is required at the time of booking to secure your date and time. For example, if your session is $400, a deposit of $200 is due upfront. This deposit goes toward your final balance owing.
  • Remaining Balance: The remaining balance is due in full on or before the day of your session. Delivery of your photo gallery will not occur until full payment has been received.
  • GST: GST will be applied to all services in accordance with Canadian tax law. Your invoice will reflect the applicable tax amount.
  • Payment Plans: Payment plans are not available. The 50% deposit secures your booking, with the balance due by your session date.

2. Rescheduling & Cancellation

  • Rescheduling: You are welcome to reschedule your session once and your deposit will carry forward to your new date. Any additional rescheduling requests beyond the first will result in forfeiture of the non-refundable deposit, and a new deposit will be required to rebook.
  • Cancellations: Studio Von YEG understands that life happens—people get sick, emergencies arise, and things change. However, a minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for any cancellation so that Kayte can make arrangements on her end as well, and the nonrefundable deposit may be moved due to sickness, a death in the family or extreme weather (this is up to Kayte Von to decide).
  • Late Cancellations: Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice are handled at Kayte’s discretion. This will result in forfeiture of your deposit. If you wish to rebook after a cancellation, a new deposit will be required.
  • No-Shows: Clients who do not show up for their scheduled session without prior notice will forfeit their deposit in full. A new deposit will be required to rebook.
  • Cancellation by Studio Von YEG: In the unlikely event that Kayte must cancel a session, you will receive a full refund of your deposit or the option to reschedule at no additional cost.

3. Late Arrival

  • We understand that things come up. A grace period of 15 minutes will be extended to all clients. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, your session will be shortened by the amount of time lost—the session will still end at the originally scheduled time. No refunds or credits will be issued for time lost due to late arrival.
  • If you know you’re running behind, please reach out as soon as possible so we can do our best to accommodate you.

4. Weather & Location Contingencies

Studio Von YEG makes the world its studio—but sometimes the world doesn’t cooperate. In the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions that affect the planned location, the Photographer and Client will collaborate to determine the best course of action, which may include:

  • Moving the session to an alternative location agreed upon by both parties
  • Rescheduling the session to a mutually agreed date at no additional cost
  • Adjusting the session plan to work safely within the conditions

Location changes or reschedules due to weather will not result in forfeiture of the deposit.

5. Right to Refuse Service

Studio Von YEG is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and creative environment for everyone involved. The Photographer reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service if a client is:

  • Behaving in a threatening, abusive, or disrespectful manner toward the Photographer or others
  • Visibly intoxicated or impaired in a way that compromises safety or the quality of the session
  • Requesting content that falls outside the scope of agreed-upon services or violates ethical and legal boundaries

If a session is terminated due to client behaviour, the deposit and any fees paid are non-refundable.

6. Image Delivery & Editing

  • Number of Images: Clients will receive a minimum of 20 professionally edited photographs delivered via a private online gallery. Mini sessions will have a specific image count outlined at the time of booking.
  • Turnaround Time: Your private gallery will be delivered within 7-14days following your session date. You will receive a notification with your gallery link once it is ready.
  • Editing Style: Clients come to Studio Von YEG because they love and trust Kayte’s editing style. All images are edited authentically to honor your real appearance—removing temporary distractions like blemishes and stray hairs while maintaining natural skin texture, body shape, and features. No heavy filters, airbrushing, or body-altering edits are applied.
  • Vision Alignment: Prior to any photos being taken, Kayte and the client will collaborate on a moodboard, location, and overall vision for the shoot. It is the client’s responsibility to communicate their expectations clearly during this process. This ensures everyone is aligned before the session and minimizes the need for re-edits after delivery.
  • Re-Edits: Re-edit requests are available at a cost of $25 per photo. If a full shoot re-edit is required, this will be billed at an hourly rate of $75/hr. This is why aligning on the vision with Kayte prior to your shoot is so important—we want you to love every single image.

7. Image Rights & Model Release

  • Photographer’s Rights: Studio Von YEG retains the copyright to all images created during the session. The Photographer reserves the right to use approved images for portfolio, website, social media, and promotional purposes.
  • Client Approval: Kayte will only ever use images that the client has explicitly approved. Within your private gallery, you may “heart” or mark the photos you are comfortable with the Photographer using publicly. Only those approved images will be used for portfolio or promotional content. If you prefer that no images be used publicly, please communicate this prior to your session.
  • Client’s Rights: Clients are granted a personal, non-commercial license to use their gallery images for personal use, including social media sharing, printing, and personal display. Clients may not sell, license, or commercially profit from the images without written consent from the Photographer.
  • Credit: When sharing your images publicly, we appreciate (but do not require) tagging or crediting Studio Von YEG.

8. Privacy & Confidentiality

  • Studio Von YEG takes your privacy seriously. Your personal information, booking details, and session content will never be shared with third parties without your consent, except as required by law.
  • Intimate and boudoir session images are treated with the highest level of discretion. These images will only ever be shared publicly if you have explicitly approved them through the gallery selection system outlined in Section 7.

9. Liability Waiver

Photography sessions with Studio Von YEG may take place in outdoor or unconventional locations including forests, urban spaces, and other environments. By proceeding with your session, the Client acknowledges and accepts the following:

  • The Client participates in all location-based activities voluntarily and at their own risk
  • Studio Von YEG and Kayte Von are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage that may occur during the session at any location
  • The Client is responsible for wearing appropriate attire and footwear for the planned environment

The Photographer will always prioritize safety and will communicate any potential location hazards in advance where possible.

10. AI & Image Integrity

The images created during your Studio Von YEG session are works of art — collaboratively made, intentionally edited, and deeply personal. Out of respect for that work, the Client agrees that no images delivered by Studio Von YEG may be used as input, reference, or training material for any artificial intelligence tool or platform.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • AI image generators or recreation tools (e.g. Midjourney, DALL·E, Adobe Firefly, or similar)
  • AI-powered filters or effects on platforms such as Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, or any other app
  • “Fun” AI recreations, transformations, or reimaginings of any Studio Von YEG photograph
  • Any tool that alters, reinterprets, or generates new content based on the original images

11. Confirmation of Agreement

By proceeding with your scheduled photoshoot, you confirm that:

  • You have read and understood all terms outlined in this contract
  • You agree to be bound by these terms
  • Any concerns or questions have been raised with the Photographer prior to the session date
  • You understand that proceeding with the shoot constitutes acceptance of this agreement

Questions? Reach out before your session — I’m always happy to chat.

2026

I’m so proud of my growth. I’m a storytelling photographer who moves fluidly between candid, portrait, and editorial work. I’ve been published many times, my photography is on shirts, album covers, patches, in magazines and more. I can’t wait to see how I grow.

2023

In 2023, I made a commitment to myself and launched Studio Von YEG—building the photography community I always wanted to be part of. After so much life change I decided to chose myself, to love myself and to become the photographer I always dreamed of.

2014

In a bit of a midlife crisis ( at 25yrs old) I bought a new camera… I personally love the Lumix line so I stayed true to it and grabbed the Lumix GH4.

I started with taking photos and videos of personal travel, then slowly started to take photos for friends and family.

2005

I tried going “professional”, only to find an industry drowning in gossip and toxicity where everyone suddenly had a camera but few had pride in their work.

So I stepped back, kept shooting for the love of it, and quietly got better.

2004

Music photography became my heartbeat early on, and for years I was the friend with the camera: parties, concerts, travel, behind-the-scenes of film sets.

2003

At 14 I dove headfirst into film photography and darkroom development alongside my sister at our local college.

After saving up for a Lumix DMC-G1, I decided I wanted to become a photographer.

I had zero clue how digital worked—so I just figured it out.
